University of Notre Dame Corby Hall Renovation

Company Background

Custom Millwork & Display, Inc. is a “green” designer/manufacturer of custom made millwork, located in South Bend, Indiana and is the Midwest’s premier source for custom displays, architectural millwork, and furniture for universities, churches, businesses, and residences. We are a “preferred vendor” for Cornerstone Cabinetry, The University of Notre Dame, Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse, KeyBank, Mohawk Door, and national contractors such as Gibson-Lewis, Hunt Construction Group, and Geupel DeMars Hagerman. We are the first millwork shop in our area to become certified with the Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC license FSC C108485) to use lumber from well-managed forests. We’re doing our part by using green materials and methods, and we can help you earn LEED points on your next big project. Ask us about FSC product availability. Contact us to see how!

Result/Solution

In the fall of 2018, the University of Notre Dame demolished its beloved Corby hall, which was originally built in 1895 with the promise of building a new hall with a similar design. With its recent completion in the winter of 2020, the new Corby Hall building stands tall in Notre Dame, IN.

Merillat Masterpiece Cabinetry with a Fox Court door style and a Kaffe Oak finish was used in 14 different rooms throughout Corby Hall.
