MCREST Women’s Shelter

As part of its work with MCREST, Constructeam also completed updates to the women’s restroom and shower facilities in Mt. Clemens, Michigan. The project called for durable, easy-to-maintain surfaces that could support the daily demands of a shared-use environment while creating a brighter and more welcoming space.

Mermaid Shower Panels in Trullo Marble were installed throughout the shower area, creating a waterproof surround with the appearance of marble and fewer joints than traditional tile. The panels provide a smooth surface that is easier for staff to clean and maintain while helping protect the walls from continued exposure to moisture.

The same material was also installed along the lower portions of the restroom walls. Extending the panels beyond the shower provides added protection in areas exposed to splashes, frequent cleaning, and everyday wear while giving the room a consistent, finished appearance.

By continuing the use of Mermaid Shower Panels in the women’s facilities, Constructeam helped create a practical, cohesive restroom environment designed to remain clean, durable, and dependable through frequent use.

Material Spotlight: Mermaid Shower Panels

Mermaid Shower Panels provide a durable alternative to traditional tile in commercial restrooms and shower facilities. Their large-format construction reduces the number of joints in the finished surface, helping simplify cleaning and ongoing maintenance.

The Trullo Marble design gives the space a bright, polished appearance while delivering the waterproof performance needed in showers and other moisture-prone areas. These qualities make Mermaid Panels well suited for shelters, healthcare facilities, multifamily properties, and other shared-use environments.
