Set Apart Pediatrics

Project Overview:

Set Apart Pediatrics sought to create a warm, welcoming, and kid-friendly environment that balanced modern durability with a gentle, playful design. To bring this vision to life, ArchitectureWorks collaborated closely with the client to deliver a space that is both functional for staff and comforting for young patients and their families.

The design concept focused on soft pastel hues, natural textures, and high-performance materials that could withstand the daily demands of a busy pediatric clinic. A key architectural feature in the space is the reception area, which acts as the first impression for patients and families. ArchitectureWorks needed a surface material that was sleek, sanitary, and seamless in both design and performance.

Material Selection: Corian® Solid Surface – Glacier White

Corian® Solid Surface in Glacier White was chosen for the custom reception desk for its:

  • Non-porous properties – ideal for maintaining hygienic conditions in a healthcare setting.

  • Seamless fabrication – allows for a sleek, monolithic look without visible joints.

  • Design versatility – easily formed into the desk’s tiered, modern geometry.

  • Durability – resists daily wear and tear from both staff operations and young visitors.

The crisp white tone of Glacier White adds a clean, modern contrast to the calming blues and minty greens used throughout the clinic’s corridors and walls. The result is a refreshing, light-filled space that feels uplifting and accessible to children of all ages.

Final Impression

ArchitectureWorks successfully translated Set Apart Pediatrics’ mission into a welcoming, high-functioning space. The use of Corian® Solid Surface in Glacier White helped anchor the design vision while delivering the performance and aesthetic standards essential for pediatric healthcare environments.
